Gallery 4 (Main Gallery): Green: The Primary Color All Media Open Juried
Exhibition
For those who reside in Florida year ‘round – appreciating the natural environment
unconditionally or rather “air-conditionally” we invite you to join us in an
exploration and celebration of the Florida Environment. Artists from
around the state are invited to submit works of art in all media expressing their
relationship to the natural environment.
Gallery 1 (Front gallery): Seeing Florida: Florida Environmental Artists
Curated by Suzanne White
Florida - an exotic paradise, brimming with biodiversity, fabulouslandscapes
and the promise of sunny days, is facing overdevelopment, diminishing water
resources, pollution, and violent storms. This push/pull of realities has been
constant in a state that attracts millions of visitors every year. Twenty four
outstanding Florida Artists exploring environmental issues will be represented
in this exhibition – one that will no doubt ignite a meaningful dialogue
about Florida’s changing environment.
Gallery 2 (Glassed-in gallery):
Paintings and Prints by Chris Lundy
Gallery 3 (Center gallery): Sarasota Sumi-e Society
The painters in this exhibition use a technique referred to as
East Asian Brush Painting. Sumi-e painters use an ink and wash
technique that requires great skill and concentration. Forms found
in nature are expressed in ink freely yet with a controlled brush
stroke a stroke that once it is painted, cannot be changed.

Arte Outsider Hispano Creativity is elusive and in continual flux
from its initial beginnings, the seed, to full bloom and
brilliance. At each stage humanity is expressed and as yet
can never be fully understood or grasped. The artistic works in
this exhibit find art in its purest state – the work of the
outsider artist! This exhibition will culminate in a community
Day open house celebration of “Dia de los Muertos” Day of
the Dead.

time-worn elderly faces, and persons like himself who have lived in a
segregated environment. His career hit an upswing 2002 when art critic
