It’s time for the next installment of our bi-annual “SITES” exhibition at City Hall and the Federal Building! This is an opportunity for Art Center members to get their work out of the gallery and into the community. The work accepted will be hung throughout the two buildings, occupying hallways, offices and conference and waiting rooms. Every year, employees of the buildings voice their appreciation for the work that brings color and imagination to their workplace. So let’s show them what we’ve got!

 
Deadline for Submissions

Monday, January 26^th, 2009

 Receiving will be held at the Federal Building, conference room 100 between 11am and 2pm.

• Unfortunately, the spaces do not have appropriate accommodations for sculptures. This exhibition will only feature 2-dimensional artwork.
• Before submitting work to this exhibition, please review our exhibition rules and regulations, as detailed on our website:

·     This is a 6-month exhibition running from January 29^th to July 27^th.

·        There is a discounted flat submission fee of $5 – to cover staff time and print materials.

·        Members may submit up to 2 pieces for consideration.

 

If you already have artwork on display at City Hall or the Federal Building, it will be available to pick up on Monday (in Conference Room 100).  If you cannot make it at that time, we will transport the artwork to ACS.  Please pick up work promptly!

 Art Center Sarasota and the City of Sarasota are joining forces to promote area artists and fund Community Outreach Programs initiated and implemented by Art Center Sarasota. City Hall and the Federal Building have been outfitted with professional art hanging systems and lighting to accommodate 50-100 pieces of juried art to hang for one year. In order to qualify for jurying, applicants must be members of Art Center Sarasota. The work will be for sale and proceeds will go to the artist and to Art Center Sarasota to provide continued funding of the Centers’ community outreach programs: Slice of Art
