Local artists design and create avant garde ensembles from unconventional materials for a surprising high-fashion runway show to benefit Art Center Sarasota

This year we took the “fashions” to a new level by using couture as inspiration. The artists used their creative skills with materials not commonly associated with apparel design such as packing material, placemats and magazines. The magnificent creations on the runway of women’s and men’s fashions and accessories really wowed the audience.

Thank you Artists of iconcept 2016: Barbara Anderson, Lisa Berger, Susan Burke, Cathy Comora, Eric Cross, Marcia Ente, Susan Fader, Larry Forgard, Barbara Gerdeman, Amanda Gilliland, Dari Goggins, Elizabeth Goodwill, Traci Kegerreis, Samantha Kelly, Ali Lambert, Alexandra Lin, Sheldon McCloud, Ray Peper, Stephanie Peters, Ellen Rose/Saks Visual Team: Pamela Moore and Taylor Klar, Andrea Silvergleit, Jim Stewart, Pamela Sumner, Lela Thompson, Sarah Viviana Valdez, Anita Wexler, Sharon White, Colleen White

Funds raised through this event help to provide a multitude of programs offered by Art Center Sarasota which enables us to fulfill the mission to provide Sarasota with opportunities for creative expression and art appreciation through art education, exhibitions and cultural programs.

The Art Center, established in 1926, offers a well-rounded adult art education program with a wide range of educational opportunities for developing and highly skilled artists alike. Youth programs such as Creative Kids and Emerging Artists Summer Camps plus after school and Saturday classes during the school year and the Slice of Art outreach program help to develop creative thinking and skills in young minds.

Continuously changing curated and juried exhibitions in the four galleries give visitors a chance to see and purchase the work of local artists as well as nationally and internationally renowned artists. The public is welcome to view the galleries with no admission fee.
