The Photography Fundamentals class is an opportunity for local photographers who are interested in landscapes, wildlife, and portraiture to further develop their portfolios. 

 

This ten-session class will begin with camera controls using available light, and will progress to basic studio lighting using strobes. 

 

Photographers of all skill levels are welcome. A DSLR, computer, and Adobe Lightroom are not required for the class, but are recommended.

Class: March 3 - May 5, 2018

The Fine Art Photography class is an opportunity for local photographers who are interested in conceptual approaches to further develop their portfolios. 

 

This six-session class will consist of lectures on the history of conceptual photography, as well as in-class critiques of students' work. Topics will include pictorialism, abstraction, and cameraless processes, among others. 

 

Students may present work for critique in the form of prints or digital files. There are no supplies requirements for this class.

About the Instructor: 

imageTom Winchester holds an MFA in Art Criticism and a BFA in Photography from School of Visual Arts. His criticism has appeared in The Miami Rail, Hyperallergic, and M/E/A/N/I/N/G Online #5, and his photography has been published in magazines like Inked, XLR8R, and NYLON. He currently teaches in the Photography and Imaging Department at Ringing College of Art and Design.
