Kathy Morrill spent most of her adult life both creating and teaching in New York City and Northern New Jersey.  She happily relocated to Manatee County in the summer of 2016.  The choice of resettling to Sarasota area was made with the knowledge that art and culture featured prominently here.  She is very pleased to become part of this community.

She graduated from Montclair State University with a BA in Art Education and shortly there after graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a Master of Art Education.  She began her career as a printed surface textile designer working for several different corporations in New York City for almost 10 years.  Later as a freelance textile designer she took full advantage of an opportunity and started creating her own fine art drawings and paintings.  She then began her career as an art teacher for Fair Lawn, NJ Public School System where she worked for the next 28 years winning many awards and citations. Before retiring to Florida.

She has worked in oil paint, watercolor and colored pencil and exhibited in galleries and other venues, including juried shows at RISD and Montclair State University along with multiple solo shows in Bergen County, NJ.
