Teacher, Humanitarian, Author, and Artist

George Zebot was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and moved to the U.S. at 5 years of age. His work has taken him to over 80 countries and he served as an artist in Vietnam and a Peace Corps Volunteer. He has been a member of the faculty at Chapman University, Saddleback College, Laguna College of Art and Design, University of the West Indies, and Pannasastra University, Phnom Penh, Cambodia and California State University.

His biography has been listed in The New York Art Review, Who’s Who in American Art and Contemporary Graphic Artists. He is a recipient of the prestigious Beyond War Peace Award and in the summer of 2006 he was invited to be part of a University of Oxford Round Table.

His workshop in March 2024, “Narrative Painting” allows students to explore storytelling as art through the use of visual cues and references. They will use personal symbols to represent ideas that draw from individual experiences, hopes, dreams and private history to create a language that considers the artist a poet.
