MEET CRIS GODOY
Botanical and Coastal Watercolor Artist
Cris Godoy is a botanical and coastal watercolor artist based in Florida, whose work is rooted in the practice of attunement — slowing down, observing, and letting nature lead the brush. Born in Brazil and shaped by a life lived across continents, Cris brings a truly international perspective to her teaching.
She leads workshops locally across the Tampa Bay area and has taught in France, Portugal, Thailand, Norway, and Brazil - guiding students of all levels toward a more intuitive and expressive relationship with the medium.
Her seascape work captures the fleeting light and fluid movement of coastal waters - a natural extension of her belief that watercolor, like the ocean, rewards presence over perfection. Cris currently teaches botanical watercolor at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens and is passionate about creating space where curiosity, nature, and creativity meet.
