From October through April, we offer workshops and classes in watercolor, oil, and acrylic painting, collage and paper arts, photography, mixed media, and more.
Artist Workshops
These popular, immersive 1 to 3-day learning experiences are led by in-demand, acclaimed artists who are experts in their medium and known for presenting engaging instruction.
Classes: Commit to Improving Your Art
From October through April, Weekly Classes Meet for 3-Week to 6-Week Sessions
Watch your skill and technique improve each week as you learn from talented local artists and experienced instructors. Students are required to purchase their own supplies for most classes.
Open Studio Sessions
Grow creatively with fellow artists
Open Studios
New this year! Members Only Open Studios welcomes supporters and artists with some prior experience. It is an opportunity to enjoy the freedom to work at their own pace, without an instructor, amongst other artists. Students must bring their own supplies. Studio fees are nonrefundable.
Collage Open Studio
Wednesdays, 1:30-4:30 pm, $15 per session
Enjoy the space and freedom of working independently in an open studio surrounded by art and artists. Bring your ideas and collage supplies.
Painting & Mixed Media Open Studio
Mondays - 1:30-4:30 pm, $15 per session
Work independently in an open studio at your own pace alongside fellow artists. Bring your ideas and art supplies.
Printmaking Open Studio
Mondays, 10 am-1 pm, $45 per session
Bring your creativity and paper to work independently with ACS presses and Akua inks. Some experience is suggested.
Life Sessions
Members Only Life Sessions Open Studio with Live Models
Indulge your passion and hone your skills - studio space is available for experienced artists to work in pencil, charcoal, pastel, or ink with live models, draped or undraped. Registration opens at 10 am the month prior for the upcoming month. Open Studio sessions are nonrefundable.
Registration opens for each month on the 15th of the month prior.

Refund Policy
WITHDRAWAL after the last day: Written notice must be given if you need to withdraw from a class/workshop. If written notice is given after the last day to withdraw (see education policy), the class/workshop cost (fee) and the non-refundable deposit will not be refunded. Art Center Sarasota understands that last minute emergencies, illnesses, or conflicts come up that cannot be controlled. Due to administrative and contract expenses on the part of the Art Center, we are not able to make exceptions.
