Join us for Family Saturdays
We can’t wait to meet the artists of the future!
ABOUT FAMILY SATURDAYS
Family Saturdays are free, drop-in art experiences held every Saturday from 12–3 PM. Designed for kids and grown-ups to enjoy together, each session offers a fresh, hands-on project led by professional teaching artists—drawing inspiration from artists, exhibitions, and cultural traditions. No experience needed, just bring your imagination.
Powered by community partnerships with local artists, cultural organizations, and businesses, Family Saturdays celebrate the vibrant creativity of our Gulf Coast region—from comic books to quilts to pizza-inspired storytelling. Together, we’re building a space where families connect, make memories, and leave a little more colorful.
Family Saturdays are FREE, but you must RSVP for each event.

DECEMBER: Holidays in Paradise
Sunshine meets celebration. December features festive printmaking, DIY bookmaking, heat-transfer magic, and a holiday book fair.
-
Celebrate the season at our inaugural Authors & Illustrators Book Fair—a showcase of local talent, stories, and imagination! Meet writers and artists, discover new books, and get inspired to create your own. Drop by the DIY Zine Station to craft a mini-book or comic with simple folds, paper, and imagination. Create it at Art Center Sarasota, read it anywhere!
-
Unleash your inner elf and make your own one-of-a-kind holiday cards! This festive workshop offers a mix of creative techniques—like block printing, stamping, and collage—to help you craft greetings that truly sleigh. Perfect for gifting, decorating, or mailing a little extra joy.
-
Add some extra sparkle to your holidays! In this festive workshop, you’ll design your own keepsake ornaments using Artesprix Iron-on-Ink™ markers, then watch as your artwork is heat-pressed to life through sublimation—creating a vibrant, permanent design you can hang on your tree or gift to someone you love. (Free drop-in; while supplies last)
