Fine Art Photography: The Film Era

This the second of a three part series that will explore the timeline of photography as an art form, beginning with its origins in the 19th century. Students will explore aesthetics, discuss techniques, and work toward building a unique photographic visual style. All Sections will involve a presentation/discussion element, as well as opportunities for sharing photography and critique. Students may participate with any camera, and at any level of skill. Most shooting will be done outside class time.

Section 2 The Film Era (February 2027)
This section will examine the rise of portable cameras and how the accessibility of photography to the average person changed it as an art form. Shooting practice will be inspired by the distinct look of film, and the subject matter that became mainstream in the 20th century.

Section 3 The Digital Era (March 2027)
The theme of this section will be the fascinating transition from analog to digital, and how the evolved processes have changed the way we view and practice photography.
