MEET KEENAN PERREN
Mixed Media Artist, Painter, and Teacher
Perren is a self-taught artist originally from Vineland, NJ, now living in Bradenton, FL. Growing up, Keenan fell in love with skateboarding and began to experiment with art. After moving to Florida he began to mix the two interests. Without using paint, Perren takes broken and discarded skateboards and transforms them into works of art, creating detailed collages, portraits and sculptures. Piece by piece he constructs images of everyday life through his eyes.
Perren’s work has been shown in exhibitions including Sonder at Higher Art Gallery, Traverse City, MI, Pop at Art Center Sarasota, Love Art, Love People at SPAACES, and All My Friends in Sarasota, and Raw Foundation, in Bradenton, FL. Publications featuring Perren’s work include Voyage Tampa, Sarasota Magazine and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
